Spring is coming slowly :) Males are fighting giving opportunities to get action captures.
I like this one because the frozen moment but wish for some eye contact.

Critic and comment are most appreciated!

Dramatic action - very dynamic image with the poses and flying water. Good low angle and lovely light. The only thing that would be nicer is if the eyes were visible. Good job, Attila.

Incredible action you captured here. I like the water drops and the twisted body of the Goosander.

    Attila:

My first criteria when evaluating an image is: Impact. The action here and composition scores very well on that scale. Yes, would prefer better eye contact, but the impact is strong as is.

    Fine capture.

    Cheers

The image sure gets your attention. As other have mentioned about eyes but overall I like it!

Thanks for the comments! In fact on the previous frame i got pretty good eye contact with one of the birds but there is no spread wings so i still like this one better because of the spread wings.

A great shot of this fight. I have never seen Gooseanders fighting so intensively as in your shot.
Great wing spread and splashing water.

agree with Randy - the impact of the action makes this. nicely framed too - is this close to full frame?

WOW!! incredible shot. Ofcourse the fight is awesome and the poses and the water droplets....but getting all this at this nice low angle makes it even better. Action photography at its best.

Since they are having a serious go at each other. flapping wings and all, it might look better with a tad more space around. Minor point really. As-is, its quite spectacular.

Dramatic moment captured. I don't mind the lack of eye contact. Like it as it is.
    The level is really nice.
