Interesting looking bird, Subhajit. Focus looks good with the eye nice and sharp. Image looks significantly under exposed and the blue sky looks very saturated with a lot of jpg artifact. If you post the technical details re camera. lens, ISO, aperture, SS etc it is easier to offer constructive advice

Hi Tony! Thanks for the advise and comments. I must say that I'm not really a photographer. I started photography 5 months ago. So I know very little about the technical aspects of photography. As for the photograph, it was shot by a Cannon sx10 IS camera with 8.0 megapixel, 12x zoom facility. ISO 200 was used. Rest of the detail I'm unable to tell you. What are those jpg artifacts you mentioned?

The jpg artefacts are the little block shapes in the blue sky especially near the corners - to reduce the file size the camera averages out similar colours and throws away info - if the compression is high you can end up with this effect. I am not familiar with your camera model but some plus exposure compensation would have helped improve the exposure. If you're very new to photography you may find posting in the Eager to Learn forum will get you some more useful advice.
