Hi Kurtisdiff....Very nice portrait of a heron. If it were mine i would sharpen the eye a tad more and darken the highlights in the lower right background.

Hi Kurt - Like the open beak pose.
The HAP might want to talk to you -- Looks like the head is angled slightly away from you :) A slight turn towards you would have been perfect.
Think I would set a black and white point - might just add a tad of contrast to it.
    Good show :)

Very nice. I love the pose. Good sharpness and detail. I Agree with previous BG and contrast comments.

Thank you guys for the comments. I do have one question, what is meant by "setting a black and white point'?

Hi - Open a levels adjustment layer in Photoshop - Click and drag the little sliders to adjust the whites (rhs) and Blacks (LHS) allows you to set the blackest black point and the whiteest white point.
Tricks is to hold down the LAT key whilst you drag the sliders - the image will go all black and all white, when you start to see pixels appear thats the first black/white pixel so time to back off just a little.

Thank you Lance for the tips. ;) I don't have Photoshop yet, but I think Lightroom may have something like that. -Kurtis
