    First post - hope I remember everything - Taken near backyard feeder - Canon 50D 600 f4 w/ 1.4 ext. 1/500th @ f8 overcast day following heavy snow.

    Very nice portrait image. Beautiful detail with blank background. On my monitor it looks like a minor magenta cast which could be easily corrected.

    A big welcome to BPN. Excellent sharpness and exposure, but do agree with Richard about the color cast.

    I might consider a slightly looser crop, a bit more room around the bird, esp. top and left. It would be easy to add canvas there if you don't have it in the original.

    Thanks for the welcome and comments - I don't see the magenta on my monitor - maybe everything I do has it - let me know if it shows on future posts - I'm looking for a good excuse to get a new laptop.

    Wow, an extreme close-up of a favorite bird of mine. They are really gorgeous and quite localized...enjoy them while they stay!
