    Default Northern Angel

    Hi to all :)

Here's my last shot of the snowy owl for this season. The fuzzy snow is the result of a little hill just between me and the post where the Owl landed. This image represent ~60% of the original.

    1/2500s , f8 , iso 200 , EV -1/3 , AV , 400mm 5.6 , 40D , not baited

I've made an animation ( 875ko ) that look more like my original. You can see it here

    Have a nice day 8)

Great bird and pose, colors too. I like the perch and layers in the BG and bottom.
I would crop the part on the left though, even if it forces you to go
with more square crop. Also I think the perch could be lightened up a bit.
Very nice image, I like it a lot.

Cool pose and good sharpness. I might crop a bit tighter and tone down the whites a tiny bit.

Like the entire thing...especially the pristine whites of the bird.

I agree that they could be toned down a bit.

I hear ILIJA's commnt about the crop but I kind of like all the negative space...especially as the bird is slightly leaning into it.

I think it gives a sense of the openess / vastness of the area.

Very well done Dominic. I like the image as presented, including your chosen comp...especially with the owl angling a bit towards the negative space (echoing Jim's sentiment). Cool animation too!

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions  I'll see for the whites tone down.

Myer , thanks for your comment :) Your suggestion is a question of taste. I'll keep the bottom that I like for his "angelical" side ;)

I like it as presented. With the distant, darker hills in the BG and the fuzzy snow at the bottom, it makes me think of the stick protruding through the clouds.
