Nesting in a retention pond at I-95 and Palm Bay rd has halted new bridge construction. It seems that Heavy equipment is not allowed to operate within 400 feet of a nesting Sandhill crane. (Good Girl) Layton

    Layton,

You got some wonderful colors in water and bands of pale colors on top and bottom are taking it away. I would crop it closer to keep the colors.

Its been a while since I saw you. How are things at Vierra?

Glad to hear for the bird !!!!! Have been looking at both but would like one with a little more room than the cropped version It does look better with the stronger colors but need a bit more room

The original could have used some room behind the bird also Sure hope you can follow the progress and post !!! Pulling for the birds !!!

Agree with a little more room on the left. The crop works well to keep the focus on the subject and eliminates unneeded negative space on the right. Nice shot and nice story.

I like the repost Layton and agree a little more space behind the nest would improve the composition.

This is a late afternoon shoot, Background color is made by passing semi trucks reflections. Its a timeing thing. Exit 176 Nw side. Here is the reason I cropped my post. Layton

What a great story! I like the cropped with yellow background the best. The head turn is better, too. The reflections of autos really do make a difference. The last picture is a little too centered for me.

    Know what?

I saw this bird (at least in the same area) last week and almost stopped to shoot it.

    I guess I should have!

We should have a contest to see the best background captured!
