    Default Ruddy Turnstone on rock

I took this shot 1/23 on the rocks by the lighthouse in NJ. The light was harsh but my wife would only give me an hour ;) to shoot at this location as we were making a long trip to Florida. After all the posts here in January I just had to see the location. The lighting is from the side - I lightened it as best I could with shadow/highlight. I also desaturated the reds a bit. It is "bright" but it was a bright afternoon.

I liked the depth of focus, lightening of the shadows, and details.
    Good composition.

You could have lightened the shadows on the leg.

    Cheers !

I think you did very well with what you were given. I love the crop and the diagonal rock/perch.

Excellent image all around. Love the comp and perch. I would only burn the very lightest highlight on the whites (8-10% exposure on the midtones should bring out the details nicely in that small area).

Like the perch, pose, smooth water background (no need for detail there in this one).

Exposure looks great for the lighting conditions and sharpness is as it should be.

Agree with Daniel relative to the one hot spot below the left wing.
