hi don, couple of things i see that stick out is the contrast is a little over and the sky doesnt look natural. i think if you went back to the original and started over you would be able to salvage the whites a little too. i worked on it and just by using the highlights slider i was able to just about get them in. i'm sure the RAW will be much easier!! also, if you have it, i might add some room to the right and take some away from the left, giving the bird some more room to look into.

you handled the power pole situation nicely here!!:)

I like the detail and sharpness of the Osprey. I agree with the contrast reduction and color of the sky being somewhat un-natural. The puff of feather on the back bothers me as well.

Harold nailed it totally !!! Excellent !!!

Hi Don You can also tweak the bird by cloning in some texture in the light areas in the neck and then lighten the feathers on the left side, light was coming from the right !!! I will normally take the chance of not getting the shot but will go to sun angle for my first one ... if you are able to get there !! Good looking image, lots of impact !!!

Don, Put the mouse down and step away from the Viveza:)
Beginners often tend to over process or under process their images I think we know which camp you're leaning towards, you want to give your images a little punch but it should be subtle and invisible to the viewer.
