Default A Rose By Any Other Name Would Smell As Sweet

Stopped on the way home yesterday and picked up a single long stem red rose that I have been playing around with for the past two evenings.

This image was made using a Canon Rebel XT, Sigma 70mm f/2.8 Macro, Canon 430 EX Flash with StoFen Diffuser and all tripod-mounted.

    5.0 sec at f/22; ISO 100; EC=0

    Hi Ed,

Interesting crop dividing the rose in two. I do think this crop works very well.
I would have another look at the way you have sharpened the photo as there are some shaprening artifacts visible such as the white lines around your subject.

    Greetings,

    Ed,

I like this composition. I have seen another similar composition here - was it yours? I also like the use of the f/22 aperture to get the whole flower sharp. Well done.

Hey Ed, another nice and different comp. Good details and color.
