Hi All
One of the original images with my new Canon 1D Mk IV which I am really enjoying. Processed in LR2 and PS CS4, sharpened with High Pass which I am also having a load of fun with.
I wasn't sure about the angle of the light?
Comments and suggestions much appreciated.

Very nice image Gail, I don't mind the light angle as it doesn't seem really harsh. BG is lovely and I like your composition. Have fun with the Mark IV, lucky you! Curious as to your ISO and if you had much noise (which I doubt).
Hi Gail Don't mind the light angle at all, seems to work better for other than birds. Wish it was softer for rendering detail in the light neck and ear area. All seems to look more pleasing with soft light !!
Like the look the tight crop and attentive look !! ... did well with the point of focus !!!
Thanks Jackie and Alfred. I'll play around with the high pass and different blending modes as a start (if that is what they're called?).
ISO was 640. No noise really. Not much of a crop, and high pass sharpens edges only, so you are not also sharpening noise. It isn't always the sharpening vehicle to use, but really nice when it works.
Thanks again
Cheers
Gail
