    Thought I'd try a shot showing 'the stare'. Kind of like the old B&W portaits I remember.

    this works for me bigtime!!!! i love the conversion. only two things i would do. sharpen the left eye and run some noise reduction on the background. i love the fact that it's shadowed on the right. nice pic!!

    I like it. Something very refreshing about a b&w image. Feather detail is great, but a little sharpening of the eye might help.

    Hi Stuart - love the in your face composition.
    Agree with Harold some NR on the background. Like the lighting - works well here.
    This style of lighting is used in portrait photography to great effect.
    Good show - like it a lot :)

    Thanks for the help on this. Did work the eye. Bang on with the crop left and right Alfred. Ran it at 4ft almost square with a wide matte round it and it looks great (I work at a photographic house).

    I'd left the noise in as I felt it added to the menace. Tried one smooth but looked like an Armani add for pelicans!
