    Stellar eagle on ice pack.

Just in from a fantastic time in Japan. And, jet lagged to be sure.

Fantastic bird in perfectly capture habitat.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the name is Steller's Eagle.
Or is it Steller's Sea Eagle, not 100% sure.

    Cheers,

Spectacular. perfect exposure, comp and sharpness. As usual. When I first saw the image, I thought its taken at a smaller focal length with clouds in the BG :-) Have you thought of a little crop from the top? That will look superb as well.

This is one of the most spectacular birds in the world and you made a fantastic picture. Great light and wonderful composition.
I like the perch in this one and the visible BG. Excellent exposure.

Beside the Steller's, are there also White-tailed Eagles in this area? Would it be possible to get a shot with both species on it, maybe at a dead fish?

Spectacular bird, and beautifully captured. Exposure looks perfect to me, and I love the background that gives this guy perfect context. Must have been a wonderful experience - looking forward to more images from the trip.

Magnificent bird and stunning image - as usual! Great whites and details.

However, close inspection of the tail area seems to confirm the "jet lag" diagnosis!
