I am not very good on gull id at the best of times never mind immatures, but I would guess a Glaucous-Winged Gull.
This was taken yesterday in pretty early light, and although not a spectacular looking bird I was quite pleased with sharpness and detail at 1600ISO. The noise is nicely hidden in the colours of the bird.
    50D, 500mm at f/4, 1/1000, EC+1 2/3. A slightly better angle would have been nice.

Like the colour the light has produced on the bird, and like the wings down. Looks very sharp Dave. Well done.

Sharpness, light and wing position look good, I only wish the angle were less steep.

Everything looks good to me, Dave - pose, flight angle, sharpness and detail, exposure, and background. Impressive for ISO 1600! Well done.
