I like being able to see the snail clearly and you have it here Did well with the exposure at the expense of the whites .. with those birds you need soft early morning light to obtain detail in the white band.

Would try in PS to smooth out the bg just a bit and might clone some texture in the light prominent reeds !!! Very nice capture .. special birds !!!
