    Default Wilson's plover in some pretty plants

    All the great Florida images lately have inspired me to look at some of mine from our Holiday trip down there this chilly December. Here's one from Estero. The shorebirds were being very cautious because of a hunting peregrine swooping around.

    1/1000, f8, ISO400
    Canon mk3, 500f4 + lowered tripod

    Love it, Grace, different and colorful. ISn't the it a big high when you get a common bird in an uncommon image?

    Cool bird..only ever seen a two of these plovers..nice setting, funny how large the bills are on these guys...really like the grasses? surrounding the bird...nice capture

    I like the unusual setting, mood, angle and eye contact. Works very well for me.

    Great focus right on the bird Grace. Like the habitat all around him. Very nice shot.
