I first desaturated, then used Nik bleach bypass, sharpened, Xero mystifer (thanks Dave P. - I miss you), Topaz
simplify underpainting, Nik Bicolor to add a little bit of hue, then added a film grain and a levels channel adjustment.
I have no idea how something is going to look when I do it and depending on the image it either looks good or terrible:eek:

    Thanks for looking.:)

After posting, Now I notice the shiny dot on the right side.:o

Another beautiful composition, Cheryl. You have a nice effect with that processing. TFS.

Very nice Cheryl....PP effects are nicely done, only thing I'd have done is remove the petal on right with dot....it takes my eye from the centre....thanks for sharing

Lovely soft gausy effect, Cheryl. Like the toning too. I'm glad someone else hasn't a clue what the finished image will look like. To me that's half the challenge - and most of the fun.:)

Cheryl, I like the color toning and the processing you used w/ Niks Color Efex. I miss Dave too:)
I think that the petal on the left is distracting. Maybe bring in some more detail.
    I do like the softness

Cheryl, apart from the afore-mentioned bright spot I think that this works really well. The gauzey effect is very pretty.
    Best,

i like this comp and macro. the curve in ll is especially lovely. the bluish color spot on the right is distracting to me. might clone it. i keep wishing for either something sharp or more overall softness. the center is lovely. :)

You got a nice tri-tone look to this one Cheryl! Agree with the thought of evicting the bright spot and feel that the center wants to go a little more in one direction or the other as far as softness. Quite nice!
