Taken in the early morning heading down towards Lebala. This handsome male was quite happy to just stand and watch the world go by.:)

pops very nicely in some sweet light...I do find myself wishing for a bit more space at the bottom and maybe some off the top :)

The colours and detail in this are exceptional. I really like the lines of colour in the background too.... and I might vote for something off the top for that reason - to remove the only colourless area.

Lovely light here. The sidelight brings out the texture in the fur. I think there is a catchlight in the eye. Fine by me as presented. Not sure whats causing the light reflection in the water.. Is it your vehicle??

    Steve,

You certainly got better colour than my earlier effort. What has caused the white patch in the water it is very strange,?

Hi Morkel, there was a tree trunk lying directly below the crop, so no chance of extending the foreground, nor would I, as I am happy as is and there is enough space.

Dale/Kenneth, the vehicle was far enough away not to through any shadow on the water. The light was coming from the lhs at an angle, therefore if it was the vehicle the line in the water would also be at an angle, so no idea? The sight banding in the darker area is OOF grass. :)

The beautiful light really makes this image pop, Steve. I like it as presented, but you might, as an alternate crop, take a little off the top to reduce the eye-attracting impact of the dark area in shadow. Well done.

Super sharp and the strong light creates a good dramatic affects on the animal buy accentuating the details. BG not competing with the center of interest. Well done Steve.

Superb light Steve. Maybe a slight crop off the top. but otherwise a very pleasing image.

    I really like this Steve,
Excellent. It has instant impact and the light makes this one a winner.
The mud on the legs is a bonus as well.

If I went hyper analytical, having looked at it for several minutes now, then I would wish that the second band of blue in the BKGR were not there. That would give an even stronger BKGR than the one presented IMHO.

    Excellent stuff.

    Cheers

    Austin

Steve - I think this is one of your most beautiful shots yet and the composition is perfect in my opinion.
