I thought this was pretty interesting. I wonder if leaving room on the right would increase the feeling of solitude.

If anyone thinks this could be useful it can be turned on under the PS preferences > General. There are three settings to choose from. Detailed is the only one that gives you the actual editing steps. You can also chose to save the info to the Meta data of the image, a text file, or both. I have both for now, so if anyone wants to DL the image and see if the changes are there under File> File info> history, that would be great.

Hi Jim I like the image a lot I t does give a message and the tittle could not be better

Composition wise I would place the bird lower in the frame Normally a small bird in frame will work better in one of the corners In this case lower left I also see sort of like a halo around the bird? For sharpening these type images I usually select the bird to avoid a sharpening halo Also all silhouettes need define edges to work !!! I'm sure your tracking will be useful !!!!

Thanks Al, Don't know about the halo as I didn't do any sharpening, S/H or Bicubic Sharper for the resize.

I think you're right (imagine that ;) ) on moving the bird down into the corner more. I had it in my thick skull to show the whole perch and didn't look past that.

I agree with Al......I'd change the composition. I don't know if this would work but I wonder what it would look like.....perhaps to "bland" if you did a little blurring on the water.

You have to understand that this is coming from someone who has about as much creativity as a box of rocks but......I played a few minutes with this one making the water different textures (like a linen/cloth texture)......some interesting effects. If you like "out of the box" types of shots I think this one would have some potential.

I'll have to do that. I have a lot of room on the right in the original too. I was expecting to see a repost when I read the notification :D
