    Default Red winged blackbird singing

    40D. 400 f5/6 at f/7.1. iso 400. 1/800s. exp. comp 0.

There is some OOF vegetation real close to the lens...causing those marks in the FG. I wish those weren't there. I shot this vertical and have cropped some for composition....not a big crop though. Sun was a little harsh.

I like the angle, singing pose and fanned tail and might sharpen it a little more.

    Kaustubh:

I agree with Kiran, lovely BG and fun perch. Great display of his epaulets.
Do wish the head angle was a bit more in profile so the bill was more distinct.

Very fun. Dark marks in foreground don't really bug me, but an easy fix if desired.

Kaustubh, he looks like he's holding on for dear life, but love the calling pose, exposure, and colours of the BG.

OOF FG marks aren't bad. Good comp here. The blacks on the bird are tough to handle when the lights a little higher in the sky. Fill flash really helps in these situations. Overall well done...

I like the pose, open bill, red on shoulders...I've still never really gotten a great image of one of these birds...I might try to lighten bird a bit, just me though
