Default Theme - White on white

What an interesting, mind-expanding theme:) I used a sunflower, converted to b&w (I think by using hue and
saturation layer, then soft focus in Nik. I know it's dark in the center - maybe too much?

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions are much appreciated.

    Hi Cheryl.
I think the darkness accentuates the pattern in the center. The whole effect looks like some sort of jewels on fabric.

Cheryl, you have nice contrast in the center - it's not too dark IMO. You have a pleasing composition and I love the flowing petals. For me, I would like to see the vignette extend a tad more to the bottom of the frame. If you're using Nik, you can move the center point.

Like it Cheryl, the center does look like tiny beads/jewels on Fabric. I think you are right, probably the toughest assignment to date IMO as well.

Cheryl, The center doesn't look too dark to me. I think you did a really nice job w/ the theme and the processing. Soft and delicate w/ a nice amount of detail.

Very interesting effect, Cheryl. I'm not sure I love the white hotness around the edges but the center is to die for. Maybe a bit more DOF on the top of the center area as they seem less sharp than the rest - but still a very interesting image.

    H Cheryl,
I love the centre of this - just like beads! Might like to see a little more detail in the petals.

Well done, good usage of a sunflower centre, I'd also like to see the petal all around but lovely image

i think the center looks great, but does seem a bit too different than the surrounding areas. perhaps if the surrounding petals were darker, or the center was lighter? :)

Hi Cheryl - I like this as presented and think the lighter center could be another option. Like the interesting pattern of the flower center. Just as a personal preference, when doing a b&w or duotone image I like to keep the peak whites at around 245 and not let them go to 255. Well done, and this is a tough theme!
