Default Weekly Theme: Clouds over Fujiyama

Well, actually detail of Great Egret in flight... backlit wing with oof front lit wing as clouds. Too many layers to count (easily over 50)... curves and channel mixing, inverting, blending and masking layers, nr & sharpening for effect, from a 1 MP crop.

Alternately, looked like clam shell, daisy flower base (backside), and mountain to me... repeated patterns in nature. I enjoyed working this image a lot.

A big thanks to Denise (chooses the theme?) for a theme to stretch my eyes.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Hi Michael. Very interesting image and treatment! I like your title and think it works. Nice interpretation of the theme!

Really like this one Michael, it reminds me of sand dunes. Great toning here as well. Very creative.

Michael, I love the flow of the lines and the color toning looks great. I see nice sand dunes also. Very creative.:) You could probably get two images out of this. If you tightened up the crop and focused on the right side-I'm sure that would be a nice look also. I like to think about doing a series when you have a nice subject.

Very creative work, Michael. I wish the top area of the front wing were more in focus as I find it doesn't match the feel of the rest of the wing but the processing here is really nice.

    Default Opening Light Daisy

    Folks,

Greetings. Thank you all for the kind words. You might be interested in a variation of the same base image...

    Opening Light Daisy

Took an intermediate step from the processing of Clouds Over Fujiyama, flipped, added some sky, a few tonal steps, a little color (fill layers with mask painting, blending).

Denise, thanks for the suggestion for another go a this image.

Julie, the detail in that area is in this one... I had to work for the softness in the other one ;)

    Cheers,

    -Michael-
