    This is my first post here in the Macro and Flora forum so i thought i would start with this shot of the common Hawker Dragonfly resting on a twig.

    Canon 20D - Lense 50mm 1.8 ll .
    1/250 f3.5 50mm ISO 200.

    Hey Bev, I like the nice details in the Dfly, and the BG is ok, My suggestion would be to have shot the branch on a diagonial rather than strait up and down. Well done

    Hi Bev, i was going to tell you nice job than I noticed that it says you used a 50mm F1.8, if this is true, I am impressed.
    I really like the sharpness, muted soft brown/green tones and especially the really soft light.

    Mike.. thank you for your advice it has been taken on board.
    Robert.. i dont really have another macro lense yet so i have been using the 50mm 1.8ll for all my macro/closeup shots and i quite often use the Kenko Ext tubes with it to really get close,

    Excellent shot of this Hawker.
    I do agree that shooting them sideways does give you a more intimate POV.

    Well done using that 50mm! You could also try using the 50mm in reverse fro some extreme macro shots.
