    I love Wheatears...
Fortunately we have a nice representation of wheaters in Israel,
Last Saturday I spent the all day (a first after a while) birding and photographing,
in a remote part of our western NEGEV (Nizzana - Ezuz area). The desert is full of flowers and spring is in the air.
spending some time with this Isabelline wheatear male, toward the end of the day I saw him running with prey to an underground nest (bringing food the the female).

croped from horizontal, ~ 50% of the original.

A smooth, clear background with good exposure and focus. The HA police should like this one. I would have liked to see some more of the legs and feet but beggars can''t be choosers.

Nice bird, perch, and BG. Too bad it didn't hop on to the top part of said perch in order to avoid being partially blocked by it! I would eliminate the drooping clump of leaves on left edge to improve the esthetics of the image's comp. The purple flowers add a nice touch of colour!

Hi Gal, I like the soft light, and colours, and the purple flower infront of the chest puts this over the top.
