Nice pastel colors, wave in background, foot up, bill open.
I would consider a clockwise rotation of the image, since the wave position suggests you were shooting straight out to the water, not at an angle along the beach, so the bird should be level.
Good exposure. The sun was well off to your left, throwing the rear of the bird a bit into shadow, but not objectionable for me.
Hope you had some decent weather, has been pretty cold this season.
I like the foraging pose and angle and would sharpen the bird some more. I also wish there were a catchlight and CW rotation would make it even stronger.
