    Default Gatorland Spoonbill in Flight

Nikon D300 with Nikkor 70-200 lens 1/1250 f7.1 ISO 400 EV 0.0, crop for composition

Spoonbills have been quite active lately flying around the Gatorland Rookery, especially in the late afternoon. Had no time to spend on this image other than a quick curve adjust and light sharpen, then cropped and resized. Might be a shade hot on the neck, but I still like it! :)

Fantastic capture. Great wing pose, beautiful colors and a great BG that goes very well with the pink and yellow in the bird.

Maybe hot on the neck but otherwise nice capture. Wonderful colors and nice light. Thank you for your hospitality at your wonderful facility!

Miss my favorite perch Mike. Glad they returned back and hoping to get some images this year too.

Love the near wing detail. The angle is a bit steep, but those breeding-plumage spoonies are gorgeous! Enjoyed meeting you last week. Gatorland is an incredible place to photograph birds, and I appreciate you taking the time to show us around your great facility!

Kristin and Doug - was a pleasure meeting you both, hope to see you again sometime :)

Sid - I know buddy.... I miss that perch as well!

Gary - I'll be there... you can't come in early or stay late without meeting me! :D Just as an FYI - March 27th I'll be hosting the Georgia Nature Photographers Assoc and some NSN folks at the Rookery.
