bob, only could have wished for a few frames before this to get the bird before it got passed you. other than that, i would lighten the eye area and give the sky a more natural blue color. the golden light on the bird is beautiful!!

Hi Bob - Sweet Sweet golden light - just a tad late but still what a sight.
Looks sharp enough to me - head is angled slightly away from you, would desaturate the sky just a tad.
Seeing those prominent blue fringing around the wing feathers again much the same as your earlier shot??
Is this present in the RAW file??

Here is a repost. Does the blue sky look any better?
Lance. The original raw file does not have blue fringe...must be my post processing somewhere. I did play with both saturation and luminance in LR

Hi Bob - can you post the original - with nothing done to it - just a straight JPG conversion.

Hi Bob - it is a fairly large crop - which probably accounts for the IQ - were you only at 200mm?? Zooming into 400 would have given you more to work with.
Doesnt look like the point of focus was on the head/eye area although I could be wrong. Think the PP is the cause of some of the issues and the large crop the rest.
