Hi Peter,
A great action shot for sure. Love the dust/dirt kicking up! The merger of the tail end of one animal and the face of the other is somewhat distracting. Do you have a frame just before this with maybe a sliver of separation? if yes, I would love to see that as well and compare,
Roman
The tail merger thing is so minor. This frame screams action! It has rooting for the one in front to get away safely. The sharp turning, dust kicking up, brown tones contrasted with the tan is one huge bonus. As seen it has the viewer think the one to the rear is about to catch the other one. You must be proud to get this one.
I agree that some separation would make for a stronger image. Of course, with that issue you can only say "next time." What you can fix, however, is the close proximity of the lead wildebeest to the right edge. Expanding the canvas to the right would give both wildebeests more room to run into.
Thank you for your views as always much appreciated.
Roman and Steve... this is the only shot of this sequence were they are both in the frame...I agree with Grady on the tail issue ....it is minor not a real problem .
Roberto and Grady ...thank you for your kind words on this image...
David ..I agree with space issue will give it a go....thanks again
A fine action and natural history image. I wish I could see a bit more detail in the eyes. The slight merger between the animals is a small nit. Well done...
A fine action study of these young adult wildebees. They look in good physical condition.
The front one is likely expecting her first offspring. Mooi gedoen, ou maat.
