    A GBH from Gatorland from friday the rookery is really starting the pick up.

    40D, 500 f/4, 1/4000 at f/5.6, Manual, Evaluative Metered, ISO 400, Raw, Tripod, Added canvas to the right.

    Don:

    Nicely exposed, sharp on the eye, clean background

    I might trade a little off the top for a little more of the plumes on the bottom. It is always a challenge as to where to crop them below, because of their plumes.

    Slightly more DOF would have given a little more sharpness to the bill tip.

    Colors look realistic and the heron looks good against that background.
