    I am always impressed by the Evening Grosbeak. One of my preferred bird. The light was difficult as they were perched in an underwood. Near Québec last week.

    I like the pose very much - the tilt of the head and the bird's intent focus. Also, I like the perch as well - the fuzz that is noticeable on the stem is a nice touch.
    If mine, I might use a vignette blur on the background or crop a little more to tone down the light area in the upper corner. But for me, the lighter area around the bird's head helps to accent the beak.

    I would prefer the bird being a little more side on , and not quite so directly above you. The body and wings look a little soft. I also find the light areas on the right a bit distracting. Nice muted colors.
