Another handheld macro photographed with my Canon 5D MK II. Since this was photographed in the afternoon, I could not get even light so I added a dark vignette to obscure the burnt highlights on the right side and also added Topaz Adjust. This portion of the flower is about 1/2" high on the plant. ISO 200, f/2.8, 1/320 sec, EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, No Flash. Comments Welcome.......

i like the point of focus on this one. not on the tips. and the vignette ties in the image with the shadows in the middle. looks great!! almost glowing!!! might run some NR on it. i see some in the shadows.

Love the image balance. Moreover the repeating pattern and colors, the red-tips are cool - TFS.

Richard....very nice work...love the vignette....the colors really do seem to glow! You might consider taking just a bit off the top?? Although you handled the DOF quite well ,,,,I would like to see this at f16 with a tripod. Great image!

Hi Richard - like the contrasting colours - would run some NR - seeing a little noise.
Like the composition - well done!!

Vey cool. I like the overall comp and vignetting. I agree about the need for some NR.
Do you know the name of the flower?

I ran NR before the Topaz Adjust. I'm guessing it added a bit more back. Here's the repost.

Beautiful composition, colors, and lighting. I wouldn't change a thing.
