Default Can Spring Be in the Air????

While photographing this female cardinal near a feeder, the male flew to the perch and fed her. I didn't see the male and didn't anticipate the need for more width. This is full frame on the length, hence the clipped tail on the female. It had been raining for two days straight. Later in the day, I photographed bluebirds mate feeding also. Spring must be in the air!

    C & C welcome.

    Great interaction shot !
Nice job at getting them both sharp and both with nice head angles !

Too bad about the clipped tail.
But, since it's clipped, you might try experimenting with a tighter crop with only the front halves of both birds.

Oh if only spring were here for real! I tend to agree with Mike on a more intimate crop focusing on the interaction. Of course, another option is to build her a tail from another image.

A bit of selective sharpening on the eyes would help as the focus seems to miss both of them by just a bit.

Great to be able to capture the male and female together and to get eye contact with both birds . I think you did very well. The clipped tail has been mentioned and if you could rebuild it it would really make for a superb image. Many thanks for sharing RR.
