Birds stand out nicely from the background and good to see a catchlight in both eyes. I don't mind seeing the bird on the left from the backside -- now I know what redshank looks like from behind. Nice composition
Hi Jonathan, I like the poses and that they are both looking out toward the horizon; you caught the light at just the right moment, expecially on the rock and their legs which gives the image an almost 3d look. Post-processing-wise, it looks good to me; wide dynamic range with just the right amount of sharpness. I might crop off some of that brown band from the top to put more focus on the subjects.
The processing looks great. (Thanks!). There is an important lesson here: with the light somewhat from the left, the Dunlin is turned towards you just enough to be well lit while the right side of the Redshank is in shadow. The Tringa needed to be parallel to the Dunlin; not much that you could do about that though :)
