    Here's another image from my time spent with this nice youngster last fall. Here he is with a food item, I believe it was a small hermit crab. The light that evening was unforgettable and in this image the shadow cast by the heron is an important element of my composition.

    1/640, f 5.6, ISO400
    Canon mk3, 500f4 + 1.4tc + tripod

    Hi Grace, good low perspective, and I like the light, detail and colours. Good to see the food item, and you have made the heron pop nicely from the BG.

    Hi Grace. Lovely light, great eye and open beak, nice details. I like the inclusion of the habitat, but might have considered taking a bit off the top to make the bird more predominant.

    Nice. Very nice. Like how the bird pops from a BG that is so close to it. Magic of longer focal lengths.

    Another lovely capture of this juvie, Grace. I think I would take a tad off of the left. Just love the environment and what a great plus to have his catch included! Love that oh so red eye.
