More of a wildlife scenic, but .........Taken in Yellowstone NP as the first light was just breaking over the mountains with the digital Rebel and the Sigma 300-800mm at 800mm, f6.3 at 1/500 sec, ISO 400.
As always, comments welcomed and appreciated,

Roman ....I hope you dont mind me saying this but i think for me the shot wud have been to exclude the subject on left....and just photograph the bison coming thru the mist...........i hope you did.......as i love the muted colours and atmosphere it creates....:)

Definitely the right elements here. This image would work better if the two were in approximately that same position - juxtapositioned to each other - like a side view. Or as Peter suggested, an image of just the bison in the BG as the main subject interest.

I like the layers in the image, the sharp FG giving away to the muted middle ground and then to the fog in the BG.

I think Robert's onto something--that if the bison were in more of a profile to the camera, and if the mule deer was more cooperative and would give you a profile of its head that wasn't tilted, it would be a much stronger image. The atmosphere is very cool, and I do like the framing. Cooperative subjects are hard to come by!

I like this one as is. I assume the FG elk is looking out towards the viewer but it could also be interpreted as looking back into the pic as if to check out the appariton of the bison emerging from the fog. The suggestion of the single bison crop would work as well.

All of the suggested comps would work. Since you are the artist and choose this one, well...it works too.

With the elk looking towards the bison walking towards him and appearing out of the fog I think the composition is excellent as is. Love the muted colors and the mood the image portrays...... I might have liked a bit more FG to give the elks legs a bit more room

Awsome atmosphere you captured here... Too bad the legs of the elk are merged...but besides that I really like this one. The DOF is very well chosen and the light and fog really add to the whole scene. Well done!
