Hi Charissa - a big warm welcome to the BPN Family - don't hesitate to jump right in - the water is warm and the locals friendly :)
Seriously though - don't hesitate to comment on other peoples images - best way to learn - just say what it is you like or dont like about the image (There are some sticky posts around that will give you some idea of what to look for in a image as well)
