    Default Perfect Kestrel

This is undoubtably the best image I have seen of a kestrel. Everything in focus, perfect exposure, the best wing position and the look of concentration in it's eyes.
    Many thanks,
    Dave.

You did well with the exposure in here Arash. Very sharp too. A bit oversharpened for me though and the eye looks funny. I assume it is a significant crop.

Hi Ofer, thanks this was 90% of FF, Kestrel was right on top of my head! You can see the image of my lens in the eye in original! rest is the reflection of the sky, makes the eye look brighter than usual.

Thanks for clarifying this Arash. I guess I can't avoid getting the urgently needed eye glasses....

Good frozen action and nice exp for the underside. Looks like there is some kind of halo around the talons.

Hi Arash, I like the intensive eye stare of the Kestrel, sure has his eye on something. Good detail from the underwing, well exposed, and overall, nice and sharp. I would maybe take a bit off the top.

Arash, pose is so good here. Very good underwing details. Love that blue on the head. One pretty bird, is the American Kestrel male.

Agree with Stuart on a little crop from top...and a little more room below might help too.

Arash, I love high key and this one is no exception! I like the suspended in mid-air pose and those talons really make that look come alive. Nice job with the exposure and the intense stare/eyecontact.

Thanks Dave, the halo is from the side light, it's in the RAW too.

Agree with most of the comments made. I am very jealous, I cannot get close to these guys! If it were mine I might still try to bring up the shadows in the face area. Great flight shot. :)

Wonderful flight shot. Great angle of view. I like the look in the falcons face.
