On the day we were at Sandia, most of the Rosyfinches were Brown-Capped and Black, this is one of only 3 Gray-Crowned, I was able to photograph.
I like the high-key look to this.

    Paul:

Your bird is sharp, and well exposed, shows the gray crown well.

I find the image a little too bright for my personal taste.
I opened it in ACR, pulled the recovery slider to 42 to eliminate some blinkies around the birds outline, then made some minor curve adjustments to lower the brightness a bit.

I might also consider a small crop top and right to reduce the overwhelming amount of white.

was this one through the window as well?

    Cheers

    Randy

Thanks Randy, I've changed the image using some of your suggestions, I've added a black border which seems to help with all the white, hope changes work...all my Rosy images were through the windows..Black Rosy-Finch still to come

    Paul:

I prefer this version, not so stark.

    Cheers

    Hi Paul,

Very nice capture. I like the repost better. I always love the open beak shots, too.

I actually love the wider ORIG version, especially the high key look. What are the little round things on the ground?

Thanks Everyone...Artie, the round things are corn (with the outer surface{pericarp} taken off, at least thats what it looked like, thats why no yellow)...from what I understand, they only use hulless seed (to reduce litter) for the feeders.
