LR Image #s

Hi:

Is there a limit to the number of images in a LR catalogue? I have over 76000 images which occupied about 500GB. For a while I broke it into different catalogues but I am back consolidated now as did not find a difference.

There is no limit, but the catalog definitely slows down with large numbers of images.

Reza, I tried keeping all of my images in one catalog at the beginning, but had problems with upgrading to newer versions of Lightroom as they came out. Now I have them separated by subject or travel location.

Finding a good system is the challenge. I'm still working on mine!:)

Thank you. Its a big challenge. What is the consensus here on the upper limit of images.
Another challenge is storage and longevity of storage methods. Still working on that problem too but thats a different topic.

I've had to break down the birds catalog to keep the size down, it is a pain but seems to flow better. The main has close to 100,000

...best solution is being brutal in the editing !!
