I would be glad of any critique on this one please. My own feeling is that it could be a bit tight at the top - maybe a case for adding some canvas!

That's one neat butterfly ...with wings that look like leaves....i agree that more room at the top is needed. Nicely sharp with clean background. I like it!

    Hi Roy

Besides the canvas I think you need softer light. For macro since we are going for little detail intensity, direction and quality of light is key !!

Might try a diffuser and small reflector for covering darker areas. Fun to use and will allow you to shoot at any time !! About all you won't be able to do is shoot with wind !!

I like how you got the bug parallel to the film plane, lots of detail and exposure right on!!!

Very nice exposure, a bit tight. I agree with Alfred that the lighting is a bit harsh in parts. Did you use a flash?

Besides the few little things its a nice image Roy, very sharp too, nice DOF.

Thank you for the feedback guys. I have never used flash (I do not even have a flash gun) - maybe if I did a bit more macro type work I would get one. I take on board about the harsh light.

Agree with above, little tight and like Al said small reflector would even out shadows - thanks for sharing.
