Very nice leading line going from bottom R. to top L. Good exposure and sharpness. The sparkles on the water above the R. hand small shorebird are a bit distracting, and it's a pity all the bills aren't pointing the same way - but you already mentioned that. Incidentally, I think the small guys are Dunlin, not Knots. Overall a very pleasing image.

    Hi Jon

I recognise those murky waters. Good to see you today and I'm glad something turned up in the end. An overall pleasing composition with the diagonal of birds. The whites on the flanks of the dunlin look boarderline but the sun was bright today. The breaking water on the and its highlights are a bit distracting. Richard is right the 'knot' are dunlin.

    Cheers

I like this image. Very well done to get those birds looking the same way. Personally I would try a crop that centers the focus on the Redshanks a little more. Hope this is ok.

Richard, Rich - I don't know how I mislabelled the dunlin - it was a long day (that's my excuse - I blame the dog!) I agree with your comments - I tend to get a bit too keen to post something off without really checking out the background detail. Mark I think your crop and tidying up of the highlights works well - thank you.

No worries, I only cropped the image, I didn't do anything with the highlights though.
