I've been an admirer of Art Morris' work for some time and found this forum by way of his blog. I just bought my first SLR a little over a year ago and didn't have much in the way of good glass at first. Birding hasn't been my primary focus, but it is the shooting I enjoy the most and get more out of than anything else.
Living in the wilds of the Florida Panhandle, there are some incredible birds including bald eagles, ospreys, and an assortment of wading birds litterally 2 minutes from my house so I am very fortunate. I'm just frustrated by my lack of long lenses and a fast camera right now. Sadly, my "birding kit" consists of a Canon Rebel XSi, 70-200 f/4 IS, 135 f/2, and a 1.4x extender. Alas I'm just getting started and the wife doesn't understand why I want to spend $$$ on big lenses when I haven't sold a single photo!
Thank you for the nice welcome and I just thought I had some great wildlife living in my area. Your tiger photos are incredible! They have always been my favorite animals since I was a child and it must be really amazing to see them in the wild.
Hi Ian -another big warm welcome to the BPN Family - dont hesitate to jump right in and comment on other peoples posts - One of the best ways to learn, all we ask is that you say what you like or dont like about a image - Great Image, comments (by themselves) are not very helpful to anyone.
Looking forward to seeing some of your work.
