    Default Red-breasted Merganser

Came across two of this species this morning -- first I'd seen for awhile. They always look very business-like to me. And this one seemed duller in color than others I've seen in the past, but maybe it was just the result of overcast skies. The image is cropped (about 35% removed), NR used (extensively on the water) and sharpened.

Hi Wendell - lookin good - no noise, exposure looks pretty good - not sure about that white patch - a little bright on my screen - could just be my screen though.
Might sharpen the eye a tad more.
    Looking forward to seeing more.

Agree with Lance on the white patch around the tail !! Difficult bird to expose !!

I think the sharpest area of the image is around the body feathers not the face? Might be the location of af sensor point !! Neat bird !!!
