Default From the Appalachians to the Midwest Prairie

    Hi folks,
I'm a nature loving nut brought up in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and migrated to the Midwest Prairie in 1970. My passion is with native plants, photographing wildflowers and picturesque landscapes. My academic background is in Forestry, Agronomy and Botany. Having worked for the Soil Conservation Service for twenty years here in Iowa and over 21 years operating our native seed and plant nursery, my life has been devoted to helping people create their own natural beauty.

My wife, Donna, and I are located in a remote valley of the bluffs of northeast Iowa on the Yellow River just 4 miles upstream from the Mississippi River. This year we are going to concentrate on getting a Butterfly House going on our property. I look forward to sharing with you.

Yes, we still have lots of snow on the ground here but it is going to be about 40 Fahenheit today. Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks Harshad. The streams are rising here as the snow melts.
