This osprey caught the fish near the Sanibel Island fishing pier (last April), had just regained altitude, and was heading for his nest (I presume). While I realize a citation from the HAP is in the offing, I like the wings and the fish. Can anyone identify the species of fish? All C & C welcome!

Interesting flight shot with the meal. I would like see more DOF and maybe a greater f-stop would have carried to focus from wing to wing. About 2-clicks of negative exposure compensation may have given you more detail in the whites

No snapper this is what we on the East call a Skip Jack or Leatherjacket http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leatherjacket_fish the spines in the dorsal can give you a nasty wound if you not careful.
