    Default Ringed Plover

    Hi

We have had some big spring tides this week with it peaking yesterday at a 33ft difference between low and high water which is a lot of water to come and go. All the shore birds have been running for cover as usual. This ringed plover decided to sit out high tide, amongst mixed group of other waders, on the top of some rocks that make up the sea wall.

    Taken with 1DmkIV and 500mm lens at ISO200 F7.1 +0.3EV at 1/1000s

    Cheers

Excellent shot! Can be slightly darker IMO.

Lovely shot Rich, fine detail and exposure. (Was this by the Lifeguard station?)

Thanks for the comments and for your pm Jon.

Jon it was taken by the Lifeguard station rocks. There is plenty of variety on there at the moment with big tides including good numbers of Purple Sandpipers, Dunlin, Turnstone, Redshank and Sanderling. There is also a 2nd winter Med gull, well towards summer colours, in amongst the hordes of Black-headed gulls on the fields.

    Cheers

Hi Rich, Really like this image I think the rocks add a lot of character to the image, maybe lighten the eye just a tad but every thing else is sweet.

Very nice, the pose and HA are great, colors on the rock add a lot
and the blue BG completes it all. In a perfect world the strong shadow
would not be there but great as presented too.
