This is a bird I photographed on Sunday at Wakodahatchee Wetlands, and I have no clue what it is. Could somebody help me out? I'm pretty good identifying large and medium birds, but on the small ones I need help. First is the original image followed by tighter crops to show the mosquito in it's bill. BTW, hello to everyone. I know a few BPN members that I've met in the local wildlife areas, and shot this photo alongside Judy Lynn on Sunday.
Yes it is, thank you. It also looks like it is an adult male. In my book (National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America 5th ed.) they appeared darker, which is why I overlooked them initially. Thanks, and I'm sure there will be more ID's needed as I sort my "tweety birds" folders.
