I made this image under bare bones conditions while running a quick test of my new 5D2.

Canon 5D Mark II; 24-70mm f/2.8L w/ 500D close-up lens; handheld. Lighting was just overhead indoor lights.

    1/40 sec @ f/7.1; ISO 800; +2/3 EV; AWB; FL 66mm

Image was processed with Nik filters.

Beautiful image Ed. Love the warmth of the colours, the great comp and lines. The 5D2 is a wonderful camera.:)

Hi Ed, I really like the colors and I like the crop. The color of the BG really makes the flower pop and compliments the overall image. TFS.

I see you got your new toy! ;) Lovely colors with the deep yellow against the black. I'd prefer that the stamen were all in focus because that is where my eye usually goes in lily images. I can't wait to see what you do with this new camera!

I agree with Jules but it's still beautiful as is.

Under normal circumstances I would have been on a tripod, stopped down for greater dof, and the stamens (all of them) would have been in sharper focus. Since I was just "playing around" with the 5D2 on the breakfast bar as it were, I had to open up to f/7.1 @ ISO 800 to get any semblance of shutter speed for handholding. Ergo the stamens are as they are.

But just wait until I get serious! :D

Hey Ed, congrats on the new toy, you did well hand holding, I'm terrible at hand holding shots. Good comp and color pops.
