    taken sunday afternoon at boynton inlet. cleaned up a dirty bill and some specular highlights on it's legs.

    D300, 300mm at f/7.1, 1/1250s, manual exp, ISO 400.

    Nicely sharp with good feather detail. The background is lovely! The warm colors of the bird contrast nicely with the cool background colors. Nicely done! You might consider cropping the small jutting rock to the far left???

    I like the habitat and the bird in this case about 25% of the image - like it as presented - the BG is sweet!

    I have to go up there shooting with you Excellent and such a good bg, fine looking specimen and like how you minimize the rock perch !!!

    Hey Harold, lookin' good! If this were mine I'd take some off the top and left hand side (getting your subject's eye closer to the top 3rd line). I think a slight head turn toward the camera would really take this image above and beyond. Exposure looks great, and the image is very sharp. Nice work.

    Beautiful photo. Nice angle and exposure.

    How tolerant are these birds to people where you are? The reason I ask is that the ones here will allow you to get no further than 8m away, whereas I was speaking to a pommy bloke once who mentioned the ones they get over there practically run under your feet!
