Beautiful and vibrant image, Allen! The red "hearts" going down the back of the body really set this off against the green BG. I might have given it a little more space at the top and bottom but it certainly works as presented. Super sharp details - were you standing right on top of him?
Thanks Julie, based on earlier efforts I knew I had to get as much of a level shooting plane as possible in order to get the whole dragonfly in sharp focus. I chased these guys for two days on a lake dam to try to get in position for some sharp shots. I probably was right over him when I shot this. I still had some working distance though as my macro set up is an effective 210mm.
Nicely done, Allen. It looks a little dark on this end but that's something I don't mind.
Love the wing detail and colours in this Allen! Ditto on the little red "hearts" and a great bg as well.:)
Hi Allen, Wonderful Calico image love the detail from the topside view.

Hi Allen, The details are really nice and the exposure looks perfect. I also would have liked to see more room around the edges possibly also see the dragonfly at a diagonal. Nice work!
Allen,
Really nice exposure and flash work here. Love the color. Seems a little tight but I really like the visual impact....
