Default Great egret in rim light

40D. 400f5.6 wide open. iso 320. 1/800. cropped from horizontal. I wish the beak wasn't so messy.

All opinions welcome and appreciated. Thx for looking.

Well done on the use of an interesting light angle. I wonder if lightening up a bit around the eye would help.
I like the setting and the green complements the bird nicely.
A tiny crop off the top would be an option.

    Kaustubh:

I find the simple compositional elements and their arrangement very good. An elegant photo.

Would have preferred a least some frontal lighting, but it might have lost some of the magic.

I certainly think it is worth some clean up on the bill.

    Works very well for me.

Thx guys. I have one version that I underexposed in PP and I like that one too. I love this kind of light.

Dave, I'll try some crop from top. I liked that bank with some OOF lit bushes and their reflections. It creates depth...the third dimension...IMO.
